Pasadena fire

Pasadena, Texas - A fire broke out on August 19 at a large food processing facility in Pasadena, Texas, at nearly 4:30 a.m. Adjacent to the fire was a fryer on an electric pump with an oil-line break. Fortunately, VFP Fire Systems installed the sprinkler system which functioned exactly as intended.

"We are very pleased that our system was able to minimize damage to the facility and avoid any injuries to any of the employees," said VFP Area Manager Mark Stein.

When the sprinkler system was activated the fire alarm control panel received a signal and the fire department was immediately notified. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished by the sprinkler system before the fire department arrived.

VFP's Houston branch completed all the alarm, detection and sprinkler work at the facility.

"It is because of the quality work that the alarm technicians and the sprinkler fitters have done, that there was only minor damage and no injuries," Stein said.

Service Manager, Bobby Rowlan, was informed of the incident at 6:00 a.m. He rounded up Alarm Technician, Lee Aulie, and two sprinkler fitters, Rob Berry and Thomas Dougherty. The VFP team was on-site within one hour.
